This Privacy Policy describes how Arrexar ("Exotaria", "we", "us", "our"), a sole proprietorship registered under Udyam Registration No. UDYAM-BR-26-0234389 with its registered office at 503, Patliputra Rail Parisar, Digha, Block A, Patna, Bihar – 800011, India, collects, uses, and protects information when you use exotaria.com (the "Site").

1. Information we collect

  • Contact details — name, phone number, email address, and delivery address, provided when you make a reservation, place an order, or contact us.
  • Verification data — your phone number is verified via a one-time password (OTP) before a reservation is confirmed. We store a hashed record of the OTP, not the OTP itself.
  • Order & reservation details — species/animal selected, deposit and order amounts, status of your reservation, and any notes you provide.
  • Payment information — for purchases from our accessories/care store, payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Paytm Payment Gateway). We do not store your card, UPI PIN, or bank credentials — these are handled directly by the payment processor under its own privacy policy. For animal reservations, settlement happens directly between you and us via UPI, bank transfer, or cash; we retain only the transaction reference you provide for reconciliation.
  • Communications — messages you send us via WhatsApp, email, or the on-site chat assistant, to the extent needed to respond to you.
  • Technical data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) collected automatically for security and analytics.

2. How we use your information

  • To verify your identity and process reservations and orders.
  • To communicate with you about your reservation, order status, shipping, and after-sale care support.
  • To comply with applicable wildlife, tax, and consumer-protection laws (e.g. maintaining records of buyers for declared species under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972).
  • To improve the Site and prevent fraud or misuse.
  • To send service-related updates. We do not send marketing messages unless you opt in, and you may opt out of WhatsApp/email updates at any time by telling us.

3. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Our payment processor (Paytm Payment Gateway) for store purchases, to the extent necessary to process your payment.
  • SMS/OTP and email service providers, to deliver verification codes and order communications.
  • Logistics partners, to the extent necessary to deliver your order.
  • Government authorities, where required by law (e.g. wildlife or tax authorities).

4. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access restricted to authorised personnel. We retain reservation and order records for as long as necessary to fulfil the order, comply with legal/tax record-keeping requirements, and resolve any disputes.

5. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to us at admin@exotaria.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records (e.g. completed order/transaction records).

6. Cookies

The Site uses essential cookies/local storage to keep you signed in and remember your cart/wishlist. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

7. Children

The Site is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. Animal reservations may only be made by adults.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
